The spirits of community members in and around Coza village in Libode were high today, due to sod-turning ceremony that was held at Lalitha Pre-School- an early childhood development centre in this community. The centre used to occupy an old and dilapidated church house, which was too small to accommodate all the kids.
Through their outreach programme, Rhema Umtata Christian Church Centre Ministries (RUCC Ministries) identified Lathitha pre-school as one of the early childhood development centres that could be supported with the resources- due to the professionalism of its practitioners, despite running the centre without compensation. The church has temporarily donated two structures to accommodate 75 learners who attended at the centre, as plans for constructing a multipurpose hall at their newly acquired site are underway.
Eastern Cape Premier, Phumulo Masualle, accepted an invite from the church to come and witness the Masiphathisane spirit action, as the church lends a hand to disadvantaged communities. Premier Masualle also officiated the sod-turning of the centre and committed to follow-up with Social Development, in ensuring that Lalitha pre-school is included and supported- as part of operating early childhood development centres in the Province.
